<thomas_adam>I guess that's something to be said for Blackberry.
<thomas_adam>But with the advent of folding phones, I can't see physical keyboards ever coming back.

<sad_plan>thomas_adam: thought it was tilde.town :p sewn you can bring your own client, so you can still use senpai if you want. or catgirl or w/e.
<sewn>again can't use libera
<thomas_adam>sad_plan: Hmm?
<sad_plan>https://tilde.town/ thomas_adam
<sad_plan>it seems to be some of the same stuff as sdf
<thomas_adam>sad_plan: Sort of, yes.
<sad_plan>are those related, or separate projects?
<sad_plan>sewn: why not?
<sewn>because the bouncers are for tilde
<sewn>not for other irc networks
<sad_plan>ah, thats lame
<sad_plan>so you serioisly can connect it to other networks? that cant be righr

<sad_plan>thomas_adam: i think i got it now. did a quick look at tilde, and tilde.town, is just one of many tildes. and they all offer different things, along with some interests being in center. which tilde do you use? Didnt look at all of them, but do they really have bouncers? isnt it just ssh tunneling?

<midfavila>thomas_adam: blackberries are sick. a few years ago when i was still in highschool i used the bbos10 dev environment to compile GNU's userspace and accoutrement for my blackberry passport
<midfavila>ran ssh into sdf on it all the time
<midfavila>these days i use a weird little handheld linux computer called the uconsole
<midfavila>briefly used an old zaurus pda i refurbed as a hobby... lots of cool little machines
<midfavila>also fwiw there are phones that fold where one segment is a keeb
<midfavila>planet computers made the gemini pda a while back iirc
<midfavila>:p
<midfavila>little linux-android clamshell... thing
<midfavila>also re: sdf its a shared computer cluster running nbsd. to run tmux atm you need ARPA status which requires a one-time 36USD contribution to operating costs
<midfavila>lots of other services too like email, webhosting, gopherholes, geini caps, etc
<midfavila>gemini*
<midfavila>anyway, bedtime for me
